About Us:
I'm Going To Be is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to empowering developmentally disabled adults, economically disadvantaged children, and their caregivers to maximize their potential through education and access to traditional and complementary medicine.
Founded by Jennifer Cusmano, a mother who understands firsthand the challenges families face navigating complex care systems, the organization is building a centralized, family-centered facility in northern New Jersey where medical, wellness, and educational support services will be available in one accessible location.
The mission aligns with UN Sustainable Development Goals 3 (Good Health and Well-Being) and 10 (Reduced Inequalities), removing barriers and supporting families who need it most.
About the Role:
I'm Going To Be is seeking a passionate, dedicated Volunteer Blog Writer to help create compelling content that informs, inspires, and supports caregivers and families navigating the challenges of caring for loved ones with developmental disabilities.
This role offers a unique opportunity to make a tangible difference while building portfolio work in the nonprofit and healthcare space.
Responsibilities:
Write 1-2 well-researched blog articles per week (approximately 800-1,200 words each)
Follow established article templates across five content categories: Caregiver Spotlight, Healthcare Navigation, Policy & Advocacy, Facility Updates, and Community Resources
Research and cite credible sources for all statistics and claims (accuracy is paramount)
Collaborate with leadership to brainstorm timely, relevant topics that resonate with the caregiver community
Incorporate SEO best practices including targeted keywords, meta descriptions, and header tags
Respond to editorial feedback and revisions in a timely manner
Bring enthusiasm, creativity, and fresh ideas to content planning

Familiar with SEO basics (preferred but not required)
